The Mountain Buzzards (Buteo oreophilus) is a bird of prey that inhabits the montane forests in East Africa (Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, and extreme eastern DR Congo.

Some populations also exist in the forests and plantations in South Africa. These are sometimes considered a separate species, the Forest Buzzard (B. trizonatus).
