The Red-necked Spurfowl (Pternistis afer) – also known as Red-necked Francolins – are African natives that are found across the central belt of Africa and down the east coast to Tanzania.

The Red-necked Spurfowl is brown above and black-streaked grey or white below. This Francolin was named for its bright red neck. The bare facial skin and legs are also red.
