The Blue-capped Tanagers (Thraupis cyanocephala) belongs to the Tanager family and is found in Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Trinidad and Tobago, and Venezuela.

This species inhabits subtropical or tropical moist montane forests and heavily degraded former forest. According to National Geographic, this species is well documented.
