The Pompadour Cotinga (Xipholena punicea) is a South American endemic that is found in the subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests in Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Peru, Suriname and Venezuela.

Diet / Feeding

They mostly eat fruit or insects.

Description

Cotingas have broad bills with hooked tips, rounded wings, and strong legs.

The males have mostly red plumage..

The females are duller than the males.

Breeding / Nesting
