Lesser Striped Swallows

The Lesser Striped Swallows (Hirundo abyssinica) are large swallows with a natural distribution in sub-Saharan Africa – with a range that stretches from Sierra Leone and southern Sudan south into eastern South Africa.

These partially migratory birds migrate north for the winter.

They prefer wooded, lowland habitats.
